The media published much about the risk of being sued for clearing snow, during the winter of 2010/11.
The Government issued guidelines on clearing snow, stating : "people walking on snow and ice have responsibility to be
careful themselves.". It actively encourages clearing snow as part of your social responsibility especially if your neighbours are
elderly or disabled. Just don't make the area more slippery than it was before and follow the Snow Code.

Business Owners have different obligations. There is a clear Duty of Care placed on the operator of
the business to clear the publicly accessible areas of their premises.
